Recreation Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Recreational therapists help people reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover basic physical and mental abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively. They help people with disabilities integrate into the community by teaching them how to use community resources and recreational activities. For example, therapists may teach a patient who uses a wheelchair how to use public transportation.

Education: Most recreational therapists need a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy or a related field. Though less common, associate’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees are also available.

Reflection: I think that this quote is trying to tell us that even if everyone does not want to choose the right or they do not want to choose that path it is still going to be the right path to choose because the right path is always the best path. This quote is also trying to tell us that the wrong is wrong no matter what he circumstances are. An example of this quote would be if your friends are going to do drugs but you do not want to then they are not choosing the right but it is in your best interest to always choose the right because like I said it is always the best path for one to choose. Another example of this quote may be if everyone does not want to do their homework even though they know that that is the right thing to do then you must obviously choose the right and do your homework because no matter if everyone is against it you must choose the right. In the end right is the only path to choose and if you choose the wrong then you are going to be going to a life of misery and regret. 

                            Thoracic Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: A thoracic surgeon is a medical doctor who performs operations on the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest. This also includes surgeons who can be called cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, general thoracic surgeons, and congenital heart surgeons.

 

Salary: $219,000-$500,000 a year

Education: Thoracic surgeons have to graduate from medical school and most commonly will go on to complete a five-year general surgery residency. After this they must successfully matriculate through an approved cardiothoracic surgery residency program for either two or three years. Some thoracic surgeons choose to do additional training in a sub-specialized area but this training is largely optional, except for congenital heart surgery.

Reflection: I think that this quote is telling us that there is going to be a time when you don’t have to listen to the facts or the most popular person, but you will need to trust yourself. In other words you will need to trust it in yourself that your conscience leads you the correct way. You conscience is one of the key factors to choosing the right and it is with saying that, is what is going to lead you to a better path in life. I also believe that this quote is trying to tell us that neither we nor not need to choose a side but we need to listen to our gut instinct. I know that I usually go with the logical side of things than actually listening to my conscience. So doing so I do believe that sticking with your conscience is the best way to go because not only is It you choosing your path and the right path but it is not a fact or a popular person.  

                     Radiologic Technician

Education: Students can train to become a radiation therapist in either one or two year programs.  One year programs are often offered by hospitals.  To qualify for a one year program, an applicant must have graduated from an approved program in radiologic technology or been a nurse with education in radiation physics.  A high school diploma or a GED is required to enter two year courses.

            Responsible or Irresponsible 

A responsible person is one who is able to act without guidance or supervision, because he or she is accountable and answerable for his or her behavior. Such a person can be trusted or depended upon to do things on his or her own. What are the benefits of being responsible? A person who has a reputation of being responsible is trusted to do things on his or her own, without supervision. Being trusted that way is certainly a good feeling.

An irresponsible person are people who are irresponsible often go against the rules--often by impulse--without thinking are caring of the possible consequences. What are some of the consequences of being irresponsible? Some of the consequences of being irresponsible may be detention at school, not being liked, and being hated.

Reflection: I think that this statement is trying to tell us that the reward for choosing the right is not a reward that is handed but a reward that is earned and when you earn it, it is flabbergasting; it is an award that you cannot obtain without choosing the right and,  the feeling is priceless. The feeling that you get when you know you did something right.  

                             Psychologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Psychologists study the behavior and actions of people to understand, explain, and change their behavior patterns. They also provide counseling and therapy to those with emotional, learning, and behavior problems. Psychologists work in schools, clinic, hospitals, and private practice. They can specialize in clinical, educational, quantitative, development, social, experimental, and industrial organizational, phycology.

Average Salary: $45,000-$65,000

Education: Students should prepare for a career in psychology by taking the most challenging (AP or IB) high school courses available, especially in English and science.

Licensed psychologists must earn a Ph.D. in psychology.  Admission to graduate programs is usually dependent on the quality of undergraduate performance in a psychology major.  Clinical psychologists must complete a two-year supervised internship after earning their doctorate and pass oral and written state qualifying exams. School psychologists must earn at least a master's degree.

Reflection:  What this quote is trying to tell us, is that you can be the richest person and have every possession but you won’t be worth anything “You can put a price on people.” I also think that this quote is trying to tell us that we may not have anything but we could still be worth more.

Salary:  $33,000-$51,000

Education: Students should take the most challenging high school classes (Including AP or IB) available in English, science, and math. Normally it takes at least five years to earn a pharmacy degree. To earn a doctors of Pharmacy degree, Phar.D. requires at least six.

Reflection: I will think about doing this as a job because it sounds easy but not fun.
