Cowardice asks the question ‘Is it safe?’

Expediency asks the question ‘Is it politic?’

Vanity asks the question ‘Is it popular?’

But, conscience asks the question, ‘Is it right?’

And there comes a time when one must take a

Position that in neither safe, nor politic, nor popular,

But one must take it because one’s conscience tells

One that it is right.

Reflection: I think that this quote is telling us that there is going to be a time when you don’t have to listen to the facts or the most popular person, but you will need to trust yourself. In other words you will need to trust it in yourself that your conscience leads you the correct way. You conscience is one of the key factors to choosing the right and it is with saying that, is what is going to lead you to a better path in life. I also believe that this quote is trying to tell us that neither we nor not need to choose a side but we need to listen to our gut instinct. I know that I usually go with the logical side of things than actually listening to my conscience. So doing so I do believe that sticking with your conscience is the best way to go because not only is It you choosing your path and the right path but it is not a fact or a popular person.
